Current High School Students/
Concurrent Enrollment of Pre-college Students
Burlington County College and local high schools have developed agreements which enable high school students to earn college credits for selected courses completed while in high school. All high school students must obtain a Special Application, (available from area school guidance offices) which must be signed by the student's parent/guardian and by the school principal or guidance counselor.
BCC has developed such agreements with the following Burlington County high schools:
Bordentown Regional High School
Burlington City High School
Burlington County Institute of Technology
Burlington Township High School
Cinnaminson High School
Delran High School
Florence High School
Gloucester County Institute of Technology
Lenape Regional High School District
(Cherokee, Lenape and Shawnee High Schools)
Maple Shade High School
Moorestown High School
Northern Burlington County Regional High School
Palmyra High School
Pemberton Township High School
Rancocas Valley Regional High School
Technical Institute of Camden County
Willingboro High School
The college also has developed transfer (known as articulation) agreements with the Burlington County Police Academy and Sirchie Fingerprint Lab.

College Acceleration Program (C.A.P.)
The College Acceleration Program is an innovative Burlington County College program designed for academically gifted high school students. C.A.P. offers high school students the opportunity to take college courses for college credit in their own high school. During the Fall 2001 semester, more than 300 Burlington County high school students took advantage of the opportunity to develop a college transcript while earning a high school diploma.
FAQ About C.A.P.
What Courses are Offered?
Any BCC course may become a C.A.P. course. C.A.P. courses already offered in area high schools include: English, General Psychology, Spanish, World History, Chemistry, C++, and Statistics.
Who Teaches C.A.P. Courses?
C.A.P. courses are taught by qualified high school teachers approved as BCC adjuncts. BCC administrators and faculty review course syllabi, textbooks, and learning outcomes for appropriateness.
How Do Students Enroll in C.A.P.?
Qualified high school students complete a special BCC Application for High School students (available from high school guidance counselors). The application must be signed by the principal, guidance counselor and parent. The completed application and tuition check are sent to BCC for processing.
What are the Advantages for C.A.P. Students?
- C.A.P. provides students with broader, more challenging course offerings.
- Upon course completion, students receive an official BCC transcript.
- C.A.P. students demonstrate proficiency at college level work -- an asset in the college admissions process whether or not the students intend to continue their studies at BCC after high school graduation.
- Students graduate with a high school diploma and a college transcript. Since BCC's credits are accepted at colleges and universities across the country, students have presented their transcripts and earned credits or advanced standing, upon starting college.
- BCC's affordable tuition and fees can represent a substantial cost savings, particularly if students are transferring their credits into much more expensive four-year colleges and universities.
Must C.A.P. Students Complete their Degree at BCC Following High School Graduation?
While many students choose to attend BCC following high school graduation, it is not a requirement of the C.A.P. program. C.A.P. students earn a BCC college transcript which may be submitted for transfer to any college or university.

Summer Link
Project Summer Link is a collaborative pre-college summer program designed to provide tutorial and enrichment activities for at-risk middle school youth. The project "links" college students from Burlington County College, as tutors and mentors, with junior high school students from ten member districts of the Western Burlington County Regional Council.
Summer Link focuses on improving academic skills, enhancing self-esteem, increasing school attendance, and exploring post-secondary careers. Students spend four hours each day at the Pemberton Campus of Burlington County College engaged in tutorial and enrichment activities emphasizing language, math, science, and technology. Small-group seminars held at the end of the day provide an opportunity for academic and social discussion and guidance.
Participating students are followed during subsequent school years to determine improvement in attendance, social adjustment, and academic performance. Methods of evaluation include standardized test scores, grades, portfolios, and journals.
Eligible Students
Project Summer Link is appropriate for male/female students ages 11-14 from participating districts who have poor or sporadic school attendance, low self-esteem, and below-average academic performance.
Costs
The project is funded through contributions from Burlington County College and Western Burlington County Regional Council. There is no cost to students.

College Bound, a grant program funded by the Commission on Higher Education, targets 35 high school students from the districts of Burlington City and Pemberton Township. The grant supports pre-college educational and enrichment activities to ensure that students complete high school and successfully pursue post-secondary careers in math, science, or technology.
Grant funds provide on-campus programs during the summer and after-school activities during the academic year. During the summer, students are enrolled in a three-credit course in psychology. Other non-credit courses include biology, anatomy, physiology, health and college study skills. Students also receive a $350 scholarship upon completion of the summer program. During the academic year, students are provided academic advisement, tutoring, career exploration, and financial aid information. College mentors and tutors serve as role models throughout the program.
