Accounting Course Descriptions

Associate of Applied Science, (AAS.ACC)

The A.A.S. program is designed primarily to meet the needs of those students who intend to seek immediate employment in the accounting field upon graduation. Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Perform all steps in the accounting cycle for a single proprietorship
  • Record representatives transactions unique to partnerships or corporations
  • Compute and record financial transactions that are unique to governmental and non-profitorganizations
  • Utilize computer to record accounting information and perform spreadsheet analysis
  • make ethical decisions

Graduates typically enter public accounting firms, private industry or government service in the capacity of junior accountants.
