Fire Science Technology Course Descriptions

Associate of Applied Science, (AAS.FSC)

This program was designed in cooperation with officials of the Burlington County Fire Academy and other members of the county firefighting community and is intended to address the professional educational needs of practicing firefighters as well as to provide an educational path for those seeking a career or volunteer service in the field of fire fighting and prevention.

Applicants who have not attended a fire academy, completed the fire science courses at another institution, or received credit by evaluation or testing, will need to attend the Burlington County Fire Academy to complete the required fire science courses. Attendance at the Academy requires sponsorship by a county fire company. Applicants needing assistance for sponsorship should contact the Burlington County Fire Marshall's office at (609) 702-7156. A student may earn credit for EMS 101 Basic Emergency Medical Technician by submitting evidence that she/he is a current state certified Emergency Technician.
