Once the semester has begun up until the end of the Drop/Add period, you will receive a 50 % refund and no record of the course will appear on your academic transcript.
Registration Office Hours
Withdrawal From Courses/College
You may withdraw from a course and receive a grade of "W" up to the end of the ninth week of classes in a semester or up to an equivalent time in a given term.
Students who withdraw completely from the College must complete a withdrawal form, submit the form to the faculty member for his/her signature, and return the completed form to the Registration Office.
Note: It is your responsibility to follow established procedures by the appropriate deadlines. If you fail to withdraw officially, you will receive grades of "F" on your academic transcript for all courses in which you were registered.
Faculty members will provide each of their students in every course section with written mid-semester notification of satisfactory or unsatisfactory progress by the end of the seventh week of a semester. If you have not received your grade by the end of the ninth week, the Divisional Dean or Vice President of Academic Programs in consultation with the faculty member, may permit you to withdraw from the course.
Administrative Withdrawals
Occasionally, a student may have a need to withdraw from a course or school after the official drop date due to unusual circumstances. In these instances, students may request an administrative withdrawal from the Registrar and provide appropriate documentation to support the request. These written requests and supporting data must be submitted to the Registrar by the end of the semester. Depending on the point in the semester, it may be more beneficial for the student to contact the instructor about the possibility of an incomplete, "I", grade. This option would grant the student an extension of time to complete the course requirements without having to register and pay for the course again. For a refund of any amount, the student must petition the Exceptions and Appeals Committee.
College action
Consistent with law, Burlington County College reserves the right to dismiss at any time students who, in its judgment, are undesirable and whose continuation in the school is detrimental to themselves or their fellow students.
When a student is withdrawn from the college as a result of administrative action or for the convenience of the college (except for disciplinary reasons), he/she is entitled to full refund of tuition and fees. If the student is withdrawn from a course or courses for disciplinary reasons, he/she is not entitled to a refund.
