Preliminary Approval and Outline of Project

Use the following as a cover sheet after obtaining required approvals for a proposed project. The Grants Office will obtain the President's approval after Department Head/Supervisor/Vice President Approval Signatures are provided.

The following information and approval/signatures are necessary for institutional time and effort to be devoted to further development of the grant project idea and/or a proposal outlined.

The following is a general outline, which may be used to organize information for discussion about your proposal idea. (Limit the abstract to 1-2 pages, plus a page for the estimated budget.)

  1. Project Name
  2. Description of Need for the Project
  3. Measurable Goals and Objectives to Meet the Need
  4. Anticipated Outcomes Related to Department/Division/BCC Strategic Plan Goals and Objectives
  5. Rationale to Support the Need for the Project: Identify Other Similar Successful Models/Plans and Documented Outcomes
  6. Description of What Is Needed to Implement Proposed Project: Funds for Personnel, Travel, Equipment, Supplies, Consultants, Evaluators, Other
  7. Provide Estimated Costs Based on Actual Specifications/Descriptions/Estimates of Time/Effort/Equipment/Supplies/Other Required to Support Implementation of Project (Grant Office can provide assistance with budget development).
