Applied Engineering Technology (BS)

The Applied Engineering Technology program is designed for students with a strong inclination for application of design and technology. With concentrations in electrical, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering technology, AET graduates fill the gap that often exists between engineers/scientists and the technical/production workforce. Career opportunities include: computer programming, engineering (aerospace, construction, design, environmental, etc.), information systems, management, quality control, and semiconductor production.

Biological Sciences (BS)

The biological sciences include many fields. Biologists study the structure and functions of living organisms — from the individual cell to the full organism, and collectively to the community level. Students develop the skills to pursue careers in medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine; research or commercial laboratories; various governmental agencies; and teaching. In the past two decades, advances in molecular biology, genetics, nanotechnology, and tissue engineering have been rapid, opening many new careers in the fields of biotechnology and genetic engineering.

Computer Science (BS)

The Drexel program in Computer Science offers extensive exposure to a variety of programming paradigms and languages, practice in the discipline of software engineering, a survey of the various sub-disciplines of computer science (databases, artificial intelligence, numerical computation, data structures and algorithms, operating systems, graphics, human-computer interaction), and training in analytical and mathematical methods.

Computer Engineering (BSCE)

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering provides a broad focus on digital circuit design, computer hardware and organization, programming and computer software, algorithms, and networks. The Computer Engineering program includes the same basic core as the Electrical Engineering degree. However, a strong emphasis on computer-related subjects continues throughout the program. This major is designed to prepare students for positions in the areas of design and architecture of digital computers, as well as in the applications of computers and digital systems.

Computing and Security Technology (BS)

The Computing and Security Technology program emphasizes practical, hands-on education and provides fundamental concepts that are supplemented with actual industry experience. Construction Management (BS)

This highly specialized program combines the elements of technology, management, and business. Students develop the skills necessary for the design and management of construction projects, including airports, bridges, commercial buildings, dams, highways, etc. Strong emphasis is placed on developing skills to complete projects on time and on cost versus the theoretical aspects of structural design. Career opportunities include estimators, field superintendents, project managers, and schedulers.

Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

Mechanical engineers have traditionally been associated with the automotive, transportation, and power generation industries, but in recent years, growth and innovation in the technology sector have expanded the spectrum of opportunity. Today, mechanical engineers design, analyze, and manufacture new products in a wide range of fields. Drexel at BCCs program in Mechanical Engineering will prepare you for a career in industry or government, as well as for graduate studies in engineering, medical sciences, law, business, information technology, and other disciplines in which technological and analytical skills play a significant role.
